Harmony Premium Yoga Mat - the first choice for professionals
My name is Patrick, I'm from New Jersey and I'm a professional Yoga instructor. I've been teaching Yoga for over 10 years and I use a Harmony Premium Yoga Mat. I run Hatha and Ashtanga classes, for beginners, intermediate and advanced groups so my yoga mat has to withstand 15-20 pro-sessions each week - as well as my own personal sessions on top of this. My Harmony Professional is a 3/16” thick and 24” by 74”, although Jade do now sell these mats in extra wide (27”), and extra extra wide (30”) so you can go for a much larger mat depending on your body size. I use it on a wooden floor during classes and on a carpet at home (or outside in my yard if the weather is warm) – it suits all three environments, staying sticky and slip-resistant whatever the humidity.
Good thing about harmony premium yoga mat: What I particularly like is that the mat allows me perfect balance and cushioning. This is because it is made from 100% natural rubber in an open-cell construction, which gives it the ultra slip-resistance it's famous for. I've read a lot of reviews where people have complained about the rubber smell – c'mon folks, it's made from rubber, it's gonna smell a bit! At least it's not some nasty chemical! The smell does wear off, especially once you get the mat out in air and let it breathe for a bit, if all you're going to do is keep it rolled up in a bag and only get it out once a week for class, then the smell is obviously going to take longer to go away.
The fact that this is a green product as well makes it even better. I am very environmentally aware, and so fully researched my yoga mat before buying it. Did you know that Jade plant a tree for every mat sold? So somewhere on the planet is a tree that's only growing because I bought a yoga mat, I think that's pretty cool. When I'm meditating I sometimes focus on the idea of this tree, living and growing tall and strong – I know it sounds crazy but it works for me. It keeps me grounded.
So why do I say this is the first choice for professionals? Well, most of my colleagues use a Harmony Premium Mat, they recommend them to their students, who then go on to tell other students, who tell other friends, and so on. It becomes a self-perpetuating cycle. And think about it, if the mats didn't live up to their reputation then they wouldn't get recommended as often as they do.
