Gaiam premium yoga mat
1. Suddha Eco Mat (4mm)
An environmentally-friendly mat, made from thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), which are 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
2. Jala Rubber Yoga Mat (4mm)
Made from 100% natural rubber which has been overlaid with a fine weave mesh in a bright blue tonal pattern to “encourage total immersion in the moment”.
3. Shakti Rubber Yoga Mat (4mm)
The Shakti has a specialized core to stabilize it and stop the mat from bunching and stretching. Also made from 100% natural rubber, it has great traction and a good foundation.
4. Adara Rubber Yoga Mat (4mm)
Made with a 100% rubber core and overlaid with a cotton mesh means that this mat retains all of its grip - wet or dry.
5. Uttama Premium Yoga Mat (8mm)
Also known as the “thick yoga mat” this is available in olive green and is 68” by 24”. It offers excellent cushioning and has a fabric like surface.
6. Atman Yoga Mat (6mm)
This is an extra long mat at 72” by 24”, especially for all of the long-shanks out there! It has a different non-slip texture on each side and is suitable for use on all types of surfaces.
7. Bhakti Ultra-Light Yoga Mat (1mm),
At 68” by 24” this weighs less than 2 lbs, and folds up into an ultra-slim square, so makes a perfect travel mat. And as Gaiam say, their plum colored mat is “ideal for a few lunchtime salutations or indulging in a serious bout of wanderlust”.
What the professionals think
Chris: When the Sol mats were launched in August 2011, I couldn't wait to get hold of one. Knowing that they were going to be made of premium eco-friendly materials, and with their cutting edge designs it made it all the harder to wait! Now I've got mine, and I love it - I wouldn't swap it for anything else.
Rhona: Superb! I have an Adara, the grip is quite exceptional, so much better than I ever could have hoped for.
Ashok: You can tell that they have been designed by professionals, the mats just work. My balance and spirit both got a boost the moment I started using the Uttama.
Retailing at just under $90 through to just under $40, there is a Gaiam premium yoga mat in this.
